Why give to the Buffalo Silver Band?
- In addition to its concerts at the University at Buffalo’s Slee Hall, the Buffalo Silver Band offers community outreach with a unique mix of jazz, musicals, and traditional brass band music in numerous free concerts in parks and churches all around Western New York.
- In a world of declining educational support for school age young people, the Buffalo Silver Band offers educational opportunities for young musicians, including clinics and joint concerts with local schools. Student admission is always free at all Buffalo Silver Band concerts.
- The Buffalo Silver Band has conducted an annual scholarship competition for talented college-bound seniors.
- The Buffalo Silver Band is an all-volunteer organization of accomplished musicians from all walks of the Western New York Community including, active and retired music educators.
- The Buffalo Silver Band has significant expenses for hall rental, music, insurance, and scholarship funding.
- The Buffalo Silver Band is a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization and all donations are deductible to the extent permitted by law
Though we appreciate giving in any amount, we have established a few giving levels, each with a special thank-you.
Bandsman – $25
Donors will receive email notifications of Buffalo Silver Band concerts for the concert season. (Please sign up below).
Repiano – $50
Soloist – $100
In addition to Donor benefits, Repiano and Soloist contributors will have their names listed in the season’s concert programs under the appropriate giving level.
Silver Baton – $250
Silver Baton contributors will be entitled to an eighth page advertisement in the season’s concert programs as well as two season tickets to the Slee Hall Buffalo Silver Band concert series.
Gold Baton – $500
Gold Baton contributors will be entitled to a fourth page advertisement in the season’s concert programs as well as four season tickets to the Slee Hall Buffalo Silver Band concert series.
Platinum Baton – $1,000
Platinum Baton contributors will be entitled to a full page advertisement in the season’s concert programs as well as eight season tickets to the Slee Hall Buffalo Silver Band concert series.
How to contribute
To donate online, select the Donate button, you will be taken to a secure website where you may donate with a credit card or PayPal account. Checks may be sent to the address at the bottom of this page.
If you are donating by credit card specifically to the David R. Colkitt Memorial Scholarship Fund, you can designate “Scholarship Fund” in the “Special Handling” section. If you are donating with PayPal specifically to the David R. Colkitt Memorial Scholarship Fund, you can designate “Scholarship Fund” in the “Note” section. If you are donating specifically to the David R. Colkitt Memorial Scholarship Fund by check, you can: write Buffalo Silver Band as the payee and “Scholarship Fund” on the memo line of your check.
